YouTube - How the NYS Budget Process REALLY Works: an interesting look

Checkout this interesting video of a mock budget process for NY.  Some truth lies behind the terrible acting.  It’s also one-sided.  As far as propiganda goes, its politicaly risky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk2pnemUREg

Although it may seem “risky”, the video highlights how powerless actual New Yorkers are in the process of developing the state’s budget, and it pretty much says the same thing as Albany political reporters.

Our elected representatives are wandering around Albany asking reporters “What’s going on?” If they don’t know the answer, where does that leave the citizens of our state?

I can tell you… Utterly disenfranchised.

Appoximately 600 individuals (many repeatedly) contacted their legislators and leadership about the issue highlighted in the video. The leadership ignored them. Instead our “leaders” have chosen to put really BIG money into a Racino, hospitals and nursing facilities.

If you want to see the other side of this issue just pick up any newspaper or watch television for the budget spin being spoon fed to us. What makes this little video funny is the fact that it is far more honest about the state’s budget process.
